Digital Buddies how-to guides

Digital access and peer learning

Getting online and learning digital skills can be transformative – or frustrating. It can take ages to work out how to change accessibility settings on your phone, download a banking app, or listen to a podcast. In the Digital Buddies project, we’ve had the benefit of being a community of people figuring it out!

Peer-support and sharing our learning with one another really helped. Using new tech and building tech skills can be a slow and up-and-down process, so having a buddy in your corner to ask for help makes a big difference.

To share what Digital Buddies has learned, we’ve created how-to guides everyone can use. Whether you want to learn new smart phone or tablet skills, or support someone else, we hope you enjoy our new videos and step by step guides!

New Digital Buddies videos

Our new Digital Buddies videos are now up on a YouTube playlist!

We’ll be adding more videos to this playlist – you can subscribe to our channel to stay up to date.

We’re trying new things to make our videos as accessible as possible. If you have ideas or feedback, we would love to hear from you!

Step by step guides

Working with the Digital Buddies participants, we put together these guides. The guides break down the different things you need to do to set up a new tablet, connect to the internet, and use it for all sorts of things – from podcasts to video calls.

You can download and print these guides, or share them digitally with people you know.
