Outside the Box provides independent development support to groups and people across Scotland who want to make a difference in their communities. We work on a broad range of projects - under the four key themes below - offering support, information, training, evaluation and advice.
This project develops peer support for people with dementia and for carers, with a focus on aspects of food and keeping well.
Building on the success of our 'Mums Supporting Mums' work, this project will develop peer support between different kinds of families - working specifically with mums returning to work, parents & teenagers, grandparents and others.
Local People Linking is a project which is getting information out to older people, families and friends about good activities happening in their area that support older people. It is currently working in Moray and East Renfrewshire.
The Friends Group is a peer support group for people in Falkirk who have learning difficulties. The group meets weekly on Fridays from 11 am - 1 pm. Each week the group does a different activities and spend some time having a cup of tea and a catch up. The group is open to anyone living in Falkirk, or the surrounding area, who has learning difficulties. Carers are also welcome to attend to support people at the sessions.
