Outside the Box provides independent development support to groups and people across Scotland who want to make a difference in their communities. We work on a broad range of projects - under the four key themes below - offering support, information, training, evaluation and advice.
This project develops peer support for people with dementia and for carers, with a focus on aspects of food and keeping well.
People are more likely to experience mental health problems as they get older. But older people are less likely to have access to community supports or to services that help them manage their mental health or provide treatment.
Outside the Box is currently working on a new project exploring ways to develop peer support for people in parenting roles.
Many older people in the UK live in rural communities. There are places where people are developing cities that work well for older people.
