Moments of Freedom Refugee Festival Community Gathering

On Wednesday 19th June the women of Moments of Freedom hosted a community gathering in Centre 81, Clydebank as part of Refugee Festival Week.

The women were joined by local Councillors, staff from West Dunbartonshire Council, HSCP, third sector and community groups.

It was great to get together to chat about what the women have been up to over the past few months with the Clydesider at their arts workshops and show off their new resources.

At their last gathering in February, the stalls worked very well so this time around they had their own stall showcasing their resources as well as a stall from Outside the Box.

The women invited the Clydesider to come along and facilitate an arts activity. The theme of this year’s festival is Rise so the attendees made their own sunrises and also contributed to our sunrise feedback art by writing their comments on some flares to stick on.

It was a fantastic day making new connections and provided several opportunities for the women. We can’t wait to see what the women get up to after the summer!
