On Tuesday 20th February the women of Moments of Freedom held a community gathering in Centre 81, Clydebank.
The group welcomed over 50 attendees from across the community: third sector organisations, Council workers, elected members, community groups and community members.
The women wanted to host an event that brought community members together in a comfortable, approachable space where they could get support and information about organisations operating where they live with the help of the interpreter. The women invited select organisations to be stall holders and had stalls from: Social Security Scotland, West Dunbartonshire Council, Citizen’s Advice, Marie McNair MSP, the Clydesider Magazine, ISARO and Outside the Box.
Outside the Box’s stall featured all our new Climate Chat printed resources in both English and Arabic.
The event was funded by the ASDA Community Foundation and allowed the women to provide free refreshments and delicious food from MILK to the guests.
It was a fantastic day making new connections and provided several opportunities for the women. This includes an arts workshop with the Clydesider from the spring until the start of the summer holidays. We can’t wait to see what the women create!
