As part of the Families Wellbeing project funded by the Scottish Government Wellbeing Fund we set up a new digital peer support group for families to come together to enjoy weekly activities, get ideas & chat in the Falkirk area.
This week the Falkirk Families Wellbeing group enjoyed a Facebook live session of belly dancing with the amazing Diane Davies-Bailey. Diane is a belly dancing instructor and a confidence coach and it shone through. The session was a real hit with those taking part saying it was
“fantastic fun” and “made you really feel like moving”
The group really enjoyed giving it a go in the privacy of their own homes/gardens. Not all of us are natural dancers but we danced like nobody was watching – which they weren’t!
Some people danced on their own, others danced with their children – it was a great way to do something active and fun at the same time.
Just letting yourself move in time (ish) to the music, laugh and just forget about your worries can be such a great way to lift your mood. I think I’ll try and do a bit of dancing every day!
