Borders Buddies Resources

Posted September 9th 2021 by Christine

Borders Buddies is a project by Outside the Box, funded by the Scottish Borders Tweeddale Community Fund. The broad aims of the project are to support people and groups to reconnect and start getting back to doing things they enjoyed doing before the pandemic. This little video shows what we have been up to so far.

A big part of what we have been doing so far is asking people what would help them to reconnect and get back to doing what they enjoyed. With their help we have pulled together a suite of resources full of hints and tips including:

Tips for Getting Back to Seeing Friends

Getting Outdoors – Tips for Groups

Getting Outdoors – Tips for Individuals & Families

Supporting a Group to Start Meeting Up Again

Setting Up a Telephone Circle or Tree

Video Calling Tips

Welcoming Communities

Zoom – How to Guide

MS Teams – How to Guide

Through new connections and issues raised, we are now progressing plans for further projects and new funding bids. This includes supporting community gardens, coordinating activity sessions and getting people involved in local initiatives for people living with dementia. Watch this space!
