Carers don’t always get time for themselves. From the carers we have spoken with, we know that finding time to treat yourself or just having some time to catch up with a friend can be really hard to find. On top of this, some carers might find it difficult to open up to friend who doesn’t know how it feels to be a carer and the specific issues they face.
We created our Wellbeing Workshops for this reason. The sessions were a time for women who were carers to relax, look after themselves and share any issues they were experiencing in their life as a carer.
In the sessions we did lots of different activities such as:
- Making facemasks
- Creating our own mocktail recipes
- Making foot and hand scrubs
- Making hair masks
- learning to make pom pom Christmas tree decorations
- Trying out different smoothie recipes
- Designing our own candle holders
We are pleased to announce that our wellbeing shops are back this September! Our first session will be on the 20th of September from 10 – 12 o’clock at the Falkirk Carer’s Centre (1A Bank St, Falkirk FK1 1NB). There’s no need to book, just come along on the day!
