The conversations and ideas keep flowing in Tealing. We have had conversations and chats with many people at different local activities.

In early September we were at the Family BBQ in Tealing Hall. And last week we held a very popular, activity afternoon for older people, with 30 people coming along.  We have also met with the school and nursery children, their parents, and the Sunday afternoon tea ladies group.  We have spoken with around 140 adults and 39 children

Thank you to the 102 people who have completed the survey. There is still time if you would like to complete it. Please contact Christine@otbds.org or phone 07936 330765.

What we are hearing

People say it is a quiet and friendly place to live. They also say its scattered, spread out and disconnected, making it harder to socialise and access services

The majority of people who responded to the survey scored 7 or above out of 10 for their quality of life living in Tealing.

For many people, Tealing is very connected and close to services and facilities in Dundee. But for some people the bus service and crossing the A90 makes life difficult and isolating

We have heard many suggestions for improving things including

  • regular events and get togethers in hall
  • clubs and spaces for children & teenagers
  • a community café, pantry and lunches
  • community transport options
  • improve the park – making it more accessible for all ages
  • create a safe, well-lit path to link Inveraldie and Tealing
  • encourage mobile shops and ice cream vans to come into the area
  • develop green energy options
  • create a social enterprise/income generation idea to ensure continued support/funding/community improvements
