Ahead of our ‘Let’s Talk Transport – in Highland Perthshire’ event on the 30th October, we created this newsletter to get the conversation started.
The Rural Wisdom project has been working in communities in Highland Perthshire which support older people to live independently in their community for longer. One of the key issues is appropriate transport to enable people living in rural areas to access services, be sociable and shop.
A new volunteer transport group from Killin will be at the event. They will talk about how they recognised the gap in transport to becoming a SCIO with a bank of registered drivers. There are Council Community buses based at Breadalbane Community Campus and support to train MIDAS drivers.
There is a free bus available around Highland Perthshire (West of the A9).
