The much looked forward to Refugee Festival Week is almost upon us!

A festival for everyone – the week kicks off on Friday 16th and runs until Sunday 25th June. This year’s theme is Hope and the festival brings people together to meet, share art, culture and ideas, and get to know each other better.

The women of Moments of Freedom are looking forward to attending events all over the city and hosting their own event on World Refugee Day, Tuesday 20th June.

The group will be hosting a Community Coffee Afternoon in Centre 81, Clydebank from 12:30 – 2pm. The event will be a chance to sit back, relax, eat and chat with others in a friendly and welcoming space.

The women will be offering traditional Syrian coffee tastings, arts and crafts, and of course their much anticipated treats and desserts!

The group will be sharing their New Scots peer support resources and will also be capturing guests’ cost of living tips and suggestions to create a brand new resource. They will be looking for tips on anything from low-cost shop recommendations to your favourite recipes!

The afternoon will be an opportunity to hear how the women created their fantastic group, their ongoing work, and discuss the wider integration work going on across Glasgow.

All are welcome and we look forward to seeing you there!
