LGBTQI+ community human rights training
We are hosting an interactive online training, to share an introduction to the human rights and legal rights we have as LGBTQI+ people in Scotland. The first part of the training will share information about the law and rights, and then there’ll be time for a community discussion about human rights in our day-to-day lives. Understanding our rights can be very helpful, and help challenge any discrimination or barriers that members of our communities face.
We hope this will be a useful, engaging, and friendly training! You don’t need any background knowledge about the law or rights to join.
We’ll briefly cover lots of topics, looking at how they affect LGBTIA+, queer, trans and nonbinary people and communities.
· Human rights
· The Equality Act and anti-discrimination law
· Social and economic rights (health, benefits, works, etc.)
· Laws that are relevant to community organisers
You can sign up for a free ticket on our Eventbrite: LGBTQI+ community human rights training tickets

We’re committed to accessibility, and warmly welcome any questions or requests about access. If there’s anything we can do to make this online event work for you, please let us know, and we can work together to address any barriers. We’ll use Zoom closed captions and shared Canva slides in the event.
For the discussion, we’ll have non-verbal ways to take part in the conversation as well, through the Zoom chat function and digital post-it notes on Canva slides. If you experience any barriers to communicating and taking part in online events, it will be great if you let us know so we can make any changes we need to. Making events accessible is very important to us, so please don’t hesitate to ask!
