This Friday, the fortnightly Friendship Friday group will start in Eyemouth, East Berwickshire. And we thought it was a nice excuse to look back at how it came to be.

Earlier this year, a number of people came together in Eyemouth to hear local author, Beatrys Lockie share a highly entertaining and fascinating session on her memoirs. Among other things, she spoke about her time living in the Netherlands during WWII.

Beatrys had previously done a session with group and was keen to share more of her autobiography – and group members were eager to hear more. As a result, the participants met together as a group to hear Beatrys speak. From there we had a ‘What’s Next Session’ where the participants decided to change the group’s name,  to include new people, and to meet as the Friendship Friday group fortnightly from 31st August. The full programme of activities is listed below.

The Happiness Habits project will facilitate the group until December in the first instance.
