Clare Swann, Outside the Box Development Worker

Borders Food Buddies is a new project which gives practical support to people living with dementia and their carers around food.  There is a strong focus on peer support, developing new approaches together and sharing experiences on what makes life easier. It is hosted by Outside the Box and funded by Life Changes Trust over the next 5 years.

We got started in October.  Clare Swann is the Development Worker and she has already began to map out existing services and meet with people who  are affected by dementia and with staff who work in services that support people with dementia or carers.
Our first area is Peebles.  We’re excited that out first activiity is geting underway in January – a good way to start a new year.  This is a weekly drop in ‘memory cafe’ which is being developed in partnership with a local coffee shop.

Watch this space to find out what happens.
