Your online space – communicating to the world who you are, what you do and allowing people to interact with your work; a good website is an invaluable for any organisation and we are delighted to launch our brand new site which we hope provides a welcoming space in which to discover more about who we are.
What can you do with our website?
You can see the inside of Outside the Box; what values underpin our work? Who makes up our small team and our dedicated board?
You can explore the myriad of projects we are working on to help build more confident, sustainable and active communities in Scotland and the rest of the UK.
You can find out about the services that we offer and how we might be able to support your group, organisation, project or one of someone that you know.
You have a host of resources at your fingertips and can sift through these easily using our easy new filtering function (keen to find reports on older people and mental health from 2015? Simply click on these options and your wish will be granted).
You can keep up to date with our active blog and of course, you can always get in touch!
Who can use our website?
We are a community development support organisation and work with a wide range of different people. We have aimed to make our website as accessible as possible to anyone who wishes to use it, and have done so by choosing:
- Strong colour contrasts
- Concise text with clear headings
- A consistent and easy-to-read font
- The ability to enlarge text & read on a high contrast mode
- A simple menu system with large buttons
- Screen-reader friendly content & images
While our website is not created directly for people with dementia, we are proud to have signed up to the Technology Charter for People Living with Dementia, and we hope that by taking the above factors into consideration, we have created a website which is engaging and intuitive for people with or without dementia to use.
We’d love to hear what you think of our website. We know it’s hard to get everything right first time so we’ll be on the lookout for any teething problems or things we’ve overlooked; if you find any aspect of the site difficult to use or navigate for any reason, please do let us know.
Finally a big thanks must go to Third Sector Lab and Habanero who we worked with to create this website.
Happy browsing!
