Celebrating Mum-Friendly Workplaces

Mums Returning to Work celebration event

Our Mums Returning to Work project is holding a celebration event on the 25th Nov 1-3pm to celebrate the work of the project and all it has achieved in partnership with ACE Place, Indigo and Cadzow nurseries- becoming the first ‘Mum Friendly’ employers is Scotland.

This is important:

women from diverse backgrounds across Scotland face unequal access to the workplace which impacts on their rights and wellbeing. There are particular gaps for women through maternity and on their return to work- many women feeling forced to leave their employment as a result. The current context of Covid has also played a key role in increasing these inequalities, which is continuing to have a disproportionate impact on women’s access to the labour market.

Where hope lies:

is working in collaboration across different sectors with employers to create safe spaces for open discussion within the workplace across their staff teams about what inclusion means for them and how to embed it. This is about supporting employers to get it right for women, their families and the overall wellbeing of the workplace- particularly in challenging times. To be part of the discussion and to hear what practical steps we can take together- please join us for talks on:

  • The Living Wage – how equal employment and pay make a difference
  • Widening Access – supporting diversity in the workplace
  • Meet the employer – ACE Place Nursery
  • How to become a ‘Mum Friendly workplace’ – we’ll share information and tools to support your journey
  • and Queer Families – support and inclusion for LGBTQI+ Mums and families
