It’s great when a plan comes together. When the Syrian and Kurdish women we work with in our Moments of Freedom project suggested getting people from the community together for an event, we had no idea how it would go. From conversations with the women we knew that sharing stories and songs was important to them so when we met the folk from The Village Storytelling Centre we started putting together a plan for a storytelling event.

The event was a huge success with lots of different people coming along and getting to know each other and the women we work with. The day was full of smiles and laughter, and lots of amazing home baked treats! The women were also able to link up with lots of different organisations which we hope we can work with more in our Moments of Freedom project.

Take a look at our video showing more from the day.
