Social Hubs in Moray

For the last few months, Outside the Box has been helping to support social hubs in Moray.

Three social hubs are being run in Burghead (Monday 12 – 2pm), Spynie (Thursday 10 – 4pm) and Hopeman (Monday 2 – 4pm).

These social hubs are for anyone in the community to come along and join in. They provide opportunities for residents to chat, catch up and do activities.

Jane from our north team most recently visited the social hub in Spynie. In Spynie there are usually around 15 people every week who sit in a cosy room and have a cuppa soup, tea and coffee and do some activities. Community members can sing, play quizzes and do some crafting.

Community members said they have been looking forward to each group, some using the Community Bus to get there, and enjoying the ‘full package’ – good food, socialising and having fun.

The social hubs are funded and supported by:

The Scottish Government, Moray Local Action Group, and tsiMORAY through the Rural Community Led Local Development Fund and the Moray Local Action Fund.

Coastal Connections is a project funded by The National Lottery Community Fund, made possible by National Lottery players.
