Having Our Say – Homeless People in Edinburgh
Started 2012 and earlier. The Bethany care shelter provides overnight accommodation to people who are homeless and need somewhere to sleep that night. It operates in Edinburgh from early November to early April each year. The service is organised and provided by Bethany Christian Trust, with help from many volunteers linked to churches across Edinburgh.

Moving Assistance Project Active
Started 2015. The first stage of the Falkirk Moving Assistance project ran until March 2016. Now we are working on more ideas in a second stage. The idea for the project came from older people who said they would like to move house but didn’t know where to start. We are also working on tips for people who are coming home from hospital- you can find our draft version of these in our Resource section below- please email any feedback or suggestions to ciara@otbds.org.

Older People and Alcohol
Started 2015. Raising awareness and practical tips on how to enjoy a drink and stay safe as we get older. Most older people have enjoyed a drink and known how to keep well throughout their adult lives. But as we get older it becomes more tricky to find the best balance.

Over the Fence
Started 2013. Over the Fence has developed a website to give people who are new to social care information about how to get the support they want. The project began in 2011 and is funded by the Scottish Government as part of the programme to develop the capacity of people who use services and her families as part of the implementation of Self-directed support.

Shared Strengths
Started 2012 and earlier. Increasing understanding of self-harm as a coping strategy. Shared Strengths was an informal network of people who recognise that some adults use self harm as a means of coping.

Permission to Dream Active
Started 2014. People with poor mental health can sometimes find it hard to think about a positive future. During the Spring of 2016, over 60 people came together and shared their dreams.
