Outside the Box is working with the National Development Team for Inclusion to support the Community Led Support programme.

This is helping Health and Social Care Partnerships in Scotland and people in other parts of the UK work with their local communities to develop support that is led by that community.  The aim is to make it easier for people to get the support they need and have a good life.

Outside the Box can give community development support and advice to people who want to look at setting up micro enterprise as a way to deliver support, or get other types of local supports underway.

In 2016 this took place in:

  • East Renfrewshire
  • South Ayrshire
  • Scottish Borders.

On the 16th of May we helped facilitate a Community Led Support information sharing event with NDTi and the Guardian.

Please click here to read the Scottish Community Led Support page on the National Development Team for Inclusion website. Here you will find links to the presentations made on the day and a short summary of the points raised in the Q&A session. You can also find out more about the overall UK wide work.

Following the event Des McCart from Healthcare Improvement Scotland reflected on the sessions that have been learnt so far in this article.
