What makes a Just Transition? A rural climate chat

Getting together for a just transition conversation

On a chilly icy Monday afternoon on the 4th of December in Longmore Hall in Keith, The Rural Environment Action Project (REAP), Outside the Box (OTB) and Zero Carbon Moray (ZCM) were joined by Richard Lochhead MSP to talk about What makes a Just Transition.

Making zero carbon work for everyone

Richard talked about the journey to Zero Carbon and what Scotland was doing to achieve their goals and answered questions from the floor. There was a lively debate on affordability and ways of making information available.

Presentation in a hall

REAP gave us a talk on their service and what we can do to make our homes cheaper to heat as well as the renewable energy options available. ZCM discussed Community renewable energy and Fi from OTB talked about Climate Chats and asked people to fill in our climate survey.

Keep the conversation going

We are looking forward to engaging with communities over the next few months and are planning partnership events like this with REAP and tsiMoray. Anyone wanting us to come to their town and hold an event please contact Fi on fiona@otbds.org
