OTB South-East are very pleased to announce the official launch of our Borders Buddies project! Thanks to funding from Scottish Borders Council Community Fund for Tweeddale, we are able to deliver this important new project to support people to start to get back to normal activities.

We know that not everyone will feel comfortable about meeting up with others once restrictions ease, even if the guidelines tell you it’s ok and you know it should be safe enough. We are here to support individuals and groups to get together in a way that feels right for them. This could mean, for groups, tailoring a risk assessment to suit everyone you are working with, running a taster session or supporting you to meet in a different way – for example, in the outdoors. We also have outdoor equipment we can lend to groups.

For individuals, we can support you to take small steps – or to access a group digitally if you don’t feel ready to go there in person yet. You might just want to feel confident enough to meet a friend for coffee or get a bus to go to the shops.

If you or your group would like some support (provided you are based in Tweeddale), get in touch with ruth.n@otbds.org or christine@otbds.org.

We are also looking at possible funding to cover the rest of the Borders, so watch this space!
