I am really looking forward to working as Happiness Habits Community Development Worker. I enjoyed working alongside the Flourishing Borders team during Wellbeing Week in Eyemouth at the first Happiness Habits café – it proved to be a really popular event and the meaningful discussions that followed were amazing! I thought then that I would really enjoy being more involved and to my delight – here I am!

My background includes working for several years as a careers adviser before moving onto NHS Borders Health improvement team for 13 years where I discovered my passion for community health development work. I recently worked for the voluntary sector piloting a social prescribing project. I find it extremely rewarding to be a part of someone’s journey – whether this is seeing their confidence increase, finding work, start believing in themselves or connecting with others in their local community.

When not at work I enjoy spoiling our new rescue dog, being part of a small local running group, using aromatherapy on family and friends, beachcombing, hill-and few mountain- walks and going to gigs when I can get away with it! I have an ambition to wild swim in a Scottish loch – 2018 could be the year I achieve this and possibly make this my own Happiness Habit!
