The Happiness Habits team were out and about again on Saturday 1st December to offer Fountainhall residents a fun filled afternoon at the village hall. The event was attended by over 30 people.  We offered three activities to try out -make your own slime, Christmas decorations and cards.

All three activities proved a real hit with the youngsters in the village. It gave the adults the chance to chat, have a go at the Christmas quiz, share some Christmas jokes and facts. We also had a range of tempting treats to sample -ably organised throughout the afternoon by enthusiastic members of the village hall committee.

The serious business of the day was to find out from the community “What would make Fountainhall even better?” We had lots of suggestions including Community Coffee mornings, Hire a soft play for kids play day, Fountainhall jumble sale and more people coming forward to volunteer to run things.

The main concerns focused on the need for a train station in the village, bus service to come into the village and street lights from the village down to the A7.

The next step will be to feedback information to the Village Hall committee to discuss a way forward based on the information gathered. For more information about Happiness Habits check out our website.
