Creating good places to grow old: Different ideas and learning from different places

Book Now

How can we make more caring (or compassionate) and age friendly communities? Do you have ideas about how we think differently about creating great places to grow old? Join the Care Campus team and Outside the Box’s team to hear about a variety of ways organisations have developed community projects across Scotland and the UK and explore how we can make Dumfries and Galloway the best place to grow old.

This is a joint session by the Rural Wisdom project based at Outside the Box and the Crichton Trust Care Campus project – Jennifer Challinor and Ann Gordon

What we want to achieve:

· Giving people in Dumfries and Galloway a place to talk about what could be possible

· Hearing ideas and encouragement to share good things that are happening in D&G

· Thinking about both care services and community supports and how they interact/blend/complement each other

· Feeding into wider discussions across Scotland about good places to grow old, especially in rural communities.

Who it is for: anyone in Dumfries and Galloway who is interested in contributing to conversations about what makes a good place to grow old

Refreshments and lunch will be provided.
