Outside the Box evaluation and trainings

At Outside the box we believe that sharing good practices and ideas plays a part in building strong, caring, equal communities.

We work together with communities, supporting them to address the challenges they face – and take steps to positively transform society! We also support community groups, services and organisations so they can work even better.

This page shares trainings and evaluation we can deliver, to help your organisation thrive.

Evaluation

Evaluation by Outside the Box

We can do meaningful, robust evaluations for your project, programme or service. We work flexibly to include everyone and create outputs that help you show and share the difference your work makes.

Read about how we used Magic Moments with carers and people living with dementia to capture the impact of outdoor activities for Life Changes Trust. We have lots of experience doing evaluation online as well.

Inclusive Evaluation. We can do meaningful, robust evaluations for your programme, project or community group. We also offer inclusive evaluation training and support so everyone involved can take the lead and shape the impact! Get in touch by emailing: louise@otbds.orgSupport doing your own evaluation

We also offer trainings on making evaluation processes inclusive, and on using Magic Moments. This helps your group or organisation reflect and develop your meaningful evaluation skills, becoming more sustainable. We adapt our trainings to support people wherever they are in the process of thinking about evaluation.

Training

Community Human Rights Training

Our Human Rights training developed through Local People Linking, and shares practical ways to make human rights come alive day to day in communities. Human Rights approaches are important – especially as people in communities have unequal access and face barriers to enjoying their rights.

The training shares how human rights can be used to build equality and inclusion, and empowers participants to run their own community learning sessions. It can be delivered for community groups, and for organisations which work with communities.

Family Inclusion Training

This training builds on our work with Queer Families, Mums Returning To Work, Moments of Freedom and Families Supporting Families. It helps organisations and services understand different barriers families face, and use community learning to address them.

This training can focus on supporting intergenerational family wellbeing, or on best practice for supporting and welcoming LGBTQI+ families. Take a look at our free LGBTQI+ families resources.

Mum-Friendly Organisations Training

This training supports you to develop equal policies, an inclusive culture, and the space and skills to thoughtfully address maternal and carer wellbeing at work. Mums and pregnant employees are experiencing worsening mental wellbeing and discrimination at work in Covid-19 and employers are losing skilled staff.

We developed this training with mums, carers and workplaces, as it’s important for every workplace to find solutions that work. Take a look at our Mum-Friendly practices training resources from the Mums Returning To Work project.
