Story telling in Clydebank

It’s great when a plan comes together. When the Syrian and Kurdish women we work with in our Moments of Freedom project suggested getting people from the community together for an event, we had no idea how it would go. From conversations with the women we knew that sharing stories and songs was important to them so when we met the folk from The Village Storytelling Centre we started putting together a plan for a storytelling event.

The event was a huge success with lots of different people coming along and getting to know each other and the women we work with. The day was full of smiles and laughter, and lots of amazing home baked treats! The women were also able to link up with lots of different organisations which we hope we can work with more in our Moments of Freedom project.

Take a look at our video showing more from the day. If you would like to come to a Moments of Freedom event in the future, or you work in Clydebank and would like to be involved with the project, then let us know by emailing alice@otbds.org. You can also stay updated with the project by following us on our Moments of Freedom Twitter, Facebook and Instagram accounts.
