This week the Borders Outside the Box Team were in Coldstream with Berwickshire Housing Association’s Befriend project discussing with residents what keeps them well and happy and if there were other activities they would like to participate in.

There was a lot of discussion over afternoon tea and some great ideas for future activities as well as some interesting tips on what people do that keep them well and happy.

What people told us keeps them well

Phoning friends

Watching uplifting films

Nature – watching birds, hedgehogs etc in my garden

Admiring a cutting grown into a full sized plant

Singing

Baking cakes

Reading a good book

Being with my cats Harry and Belle

Charity shops

Music –  of all kinds and genres

The message seems to be keeping busy and meeting people is the key to keeping well and happy!
