Wisdom in Practice

Capacity building with older people to develop user-led services

New website!  We have a Wisdom in Practice website where you can find all of our resources, publications, links, information and more. Go to: www.wisdominpractice.org.uk

Wisdom in Practice has been developed by Outside the Box to encourage and support the development of services led by older people. Wisdom in Practice aims to build on the skills, knowledge and confidence of older people, to enable you to start or develop services that are led by older people. It works with older people across Scotland to make a difference to the opportunities and services you can use. The work is supported by a grant from the Scottish Government under the Equalities funding programme until 2016. The projects that we have helped get underway or grow have also got support from Councils, NHS Boards, charitable trusts and fundraising.

  • Older People and Co-production: Edinburgh event report

This report brings together ideas and practice around co-production as a way to create better services and community supports and opportunities for older people. It is part of the Wisdom in Practice project which is based at Outside the Box. We held an even in Edinburgh in November 2013 to look at what people are doing in Scotland and what we could learn from the experience of people in other parts of the UK. This report includes many of the points discussed on the day.
