Today there is exactly one month until the Scottish local elections. Are you registered to vote? If not, there’s no need to worry. You can still register to vote up until the 17th of April. Registering only takes a few minutes and you can do the whole process online here.

Social Enterprise Scotland has produced a policy manifesto for the upcoming local election after consulting with Scottish Social Enterprises, as they do for each local election. The final manifesto will be sent out to all election candidates and political parties, as well as to local authority officers and local and national government bodies. The manifesto is being updated currently, to add more suggestions from social enterprises, but you can read the current version of the manifesto here.

We are really pleased that Social Enterprises produces this manifesto so all political parties are aware of the needs of social enterprises in Scotland and how to best support them. We know from our Getting There project that social and micro enterprises can achieve great things and make Scotland a better place when they are given the opportunity to flourish.
