Rethink Mental Illness have produced a great blog on managing your money when you have difficulties with your mental health. The blog suggests great tips like keeping your receipts (and the tags on things) when you can feel that your mental health is encouraging you to buy things you wouldn’t buy usually so you can return them.

We know that sharing advice like this can have a huge impact. For many people money can be a worry and if you feel unable to make the best choices for you then it can feel very stressful.

We understand older people can face a variety of different money worries, from being concerned that a partner with dementia has sole charge of the finances to understanding you have less money coming in now. We have recently launched our Money Owls project where we are training a team of volunteer older people who will be able to tell other older people what support is available for their finances. You can see more about the project here.
