From the groups we work with, we know that it can be difficult going to the doctor and getting the support you need. Doctors can sometimes use language we don’t understand and it can feel scary telling a stranger about problems you are having.

The General Medical Council (GMC) is the UK’s independent regulator of doctors. It has just launched a survey to find out more about how patients feel about talking to their doctor about their care and treatments.

The survey was created so the GMC can look at the best way for doctors to make sure they work with patients themselves when they make decisions about their care. We are really pleased that the GMC is realising that things could be better for patients and that patients themselves are the ones who should give advice on how things can be improved.

The survey is really quick and simple to fill out. The closing date is the 19th of March 2017. It would be great if you could fill in the survey and help the GMC work better with the patients they support.
